Water and Irrigation
Water and Irrigation:
Crop grown as rainfed does not need any irrigation. But during tillering and flowering stages, if rain stops for a long spell, then irrigation would be required to obtain good yield. Furrows and ridges should be prepared for irrigation which would serve dual purpose of irrigation and drainage. The crop does not do well under water logged conditions; therefore proper removal of excess water after rains is also essential.
