Organic nutrient management
The requirement of nitrogen is less than other crops since it is a leguminous crop. FYM (farmyard manure) @ 5-10 t/ha
should be applied and incorporated in to the soil during final land preparation. The additional nutrient need of crop should be met from green manuring, use of bio-fertilizers, vermicompost, etc.
In a study at ICAR Sikkim Centre, soybean var. PK-1042 responded positively to neem cake @ 1 t/ha + mixed compost @ 2.5 t/ha + dolomite @ 1 t/ha and produced grain yield of 3300 kg.
