Nutrient Management

Organic nutrient management

General recommendation for harvesting a good crop of leafy mustard is application of 10 tonnes of FYM or
vermicompost @ 5 t/ha during last field preparation along with 150 kg rock phosphate (Reza, S. K. 2014. Pers.
Communication). FYM, compost, green manure (Sesbania aculeata) and various animal wastes should be applied to
the soil 10-15 days prior to transplanting. The use of Azotobacter or Azospirillum saves 20-30 kg N/ha. Different types
of oil cakes should be applied @ 0.5 to 1.0 t/ha to meet the demand of micronutrient and sulphur demand of the crop.
