Weeding and Intercultivation
Weeding and Intercultivation
The aim of weeding and interculture operation is to provide best opportunity to crop to establish and grow vigorously upto the time of maturity. The main objectives of weed control are to improve the soil conditions by reducing evaporation from the soil surface, improve infiltration of rain or surface water, reduce runoff to maintain ridges or beds on which the crop is grown and to reduce competition of weeds for light, nutrients and water.
(i) GRUBBER WEEDER :
It is a simple type and light weight manually operated equipment for weeding and interculture in upland row crops. It consists of a long handle, ferrule three tynes and sweep type blades. The operation uses pull force to break the soil crust and uproot the weeds. It weighs 1.8 kgs & its Field capacity is 0.005-0.009 ha/hr

Grubber Weeder Single Wheel Hoe
(ii) SINGLE WHEEL HOE :
It is a manually operated equipment for weeding and interculture in row crops spaced above 240mm. It consists of wheel, frame, V- blade with tyne and handle. Weed cutting and uprooting are done through push and pull action of the unit. It weighs 9 Kgs & its field capacity is 0.09 ha/hr.
(iii) TWIN WHEEL HOE :
It is an manually operated equipment for interculture & weeding in row crops in black soil region. It consists of twin wheels, frame, V-blade with tyne and handle. Weed cutting & uprooting are done through push pull action of the unit. It weighs 4.5 Kgs & its field Capacity:0.01 ha/hr.

Hand Tool Minikit Twin Wheel Hoe Cono Weeder
(iv)Hand Tools Minikit :
This is set of tools useful for gardening and in kitchen garden. The set consists of tools like Hand shovel, Secateur, Hand digger, hand fork etc. all made up of high quality mild steels.
(v) Cono Weeder :
It is manual implement for weeding between rows of paddy crops. It is specially suited for paddy grown under SRI technique. The cono weeder has two conical rotors mounted in tandem with opposite orientation. Smooth and serrated blades mounted alternately on the rotor uproot and burry weeds because the rotors create a back and forth movement in the top 3 cm of soil, the cono weeder can satisfactorily weed in a single forward pass without a push pull movement. Weighing 5 to 6 kgs, it has a field capacity of 0.18 hac/day.
